Having a K-9 in the department is a great advantage and tool. A K-9 that tracks/trails human scent makes them invaluable in pursuing a suspect whether night or day because they use their sense of smell and not their sight. A K-9 trained in apprehension allows the officer to have immediate backup. Narcotics detection trained K-9's are a very valuable tool for locating drugs in vehicles, buildings, and on a person. Furthermore, because of the movitvational style of training and good temperment, these K-9's are great for school programs and public demonstrations. |
