a friend for life
We are brother and sister living in
Cincinnati, Ohio. We both have full time jobs but are committed to
creating a second chance for
German Shepherd Dogs
that for many
different reasons are in need of new homes. Our GSR is a non profit
organization; our income is derived from adoption fees & private
donations all of which goes to care for the dogs.
Potential adoptive homes fill out an
Adoption Application, so that we
can match dogs to new homes and avoid potential conflicts with other
pets, children or living arrangements. Once the Adoption Application is
filled out completely and the references are called the GSD�s and their
new potential companions meet. When a match is made an adoption fee is
collected from the adopting person. The new guardian signs a contract
stating that they are responsible for the dog, spay/neuter (if not done
prior), will provide adequate care for the dog, and must contact GSR if
for any reason they can not keep the dog. See our link

Our adoption fee is $150.00
(additional fees may be added to original fee for special training or
additional vet care.) We will spay/neuter for addition cost or
adoptive person must agree to have done within 3 days of signing the
contract.
We are always in need of
volunteers! Volunteers can help transport dogs, visit shelter,
groom dogs, and help with fund raising. We will be pleased to have
you, whatever you can offer these rescue dogs.
We have a chronic need for
FOSTER HOMES!
Even short-term foster care is appreciated, especially around holidays
and summer vacations. Foster Homes find the hardest part of fostering is
having to give up the dog after they have wiggled their way into your
heart; but it is just as gratifying to know that you have helped give
this wonderful animal a new start on life! Our foster homes will
need to fill out a Foster Application, much like the Adoption
Application for potential adopters, and we carefully match a foster dog
to a home that will accommodate both dog and foster parent.
