I've been deliquent in posting so tonight it's lots of blogging. The rain has been drizzling all day and into this evening so the outside work is waiting until tomorrow night. I had to stop at Menard's on Monday to pick up a couple of extra pieces for the kennels and to my horror (!) they had spring bulbs on sale. It was too great a sale to pass up so I bought a few bags full of assorted tulips, yellow daffodils and I could not pass up the iris called "Going My Way", a wonderful two toned purple color. I guess planting will have to wait until next week at this rate.
Trace the cardigan was winner's dog at the show up in Hutchinson MN this past weekend, giving him a total of 5 minor points. What a trooper, he walks in and lays down to take a nap while waiting for the ring. No freaking out, no signs of stress like excessive panting and pulling at the lead-not this kid-he's so sound in temperament. He could not take his eyes off of the judge on Sunday and made goo-goo eyes at her. I mean, really, how can you not pick him when he does THAT?
I brought home a lovely tri smooth Collie boy from Brian, Amy and Peppi, but alas he is destined for NE and his new owner, Dallas Nolan. I'm pretty sure Dave and Dawn will love him too! So I'm not going to fall in love with him-yea right. The good news is that I will be swapping out a puppy with Dave next weekend in Mason City. He get's to take the tri smooth boy home and I'm going to bring home a sable smooth girl to train for her new home. Sigh...another one I won't be able to fall in love with, at least permanently.
On that note there are plans in the works for a few additions to the Maiwae gang, some for a short stay, some for a long stay and some forever. Plans are still cooking away so I'll have more on that later.
Well, I guess that's it for now, I've got a paper due so it's time to get back to some serious stuff before bedtime.
Until next time...
