CI&S in VA!

Posted by Simone

Okay, I went ot see Ci&S at the Wolf Trap last nightin Vienna, VA (20 mins. from Washington, DC). It was my fourth show and I loved it (of Course!) My only problem was that while the crowd got into the show, everyone actually believed that their bottoms should be hermetically attached to the seats!! I saw Kenney after the show and wished him Happy B-day. Anyway, here is the set list with anectdotes.

PART 1
-Intro (West Side Story - Jets & Sharks prologue)
-Wanderin
-I'm not sleepy
-Please
-Speak of the Devil
-Flyin
-Somebody's Crying
-Wicked Game
-Go Walkin Down There
-BDABBT
(CI started this with his "relationship" anectdote--the one about watching the one you love while they're sleeping and wishing for a Dixie cup of gasoline. He told a great joke about coming home from the road only to go into the bedroom and finding the sheets *akimbo*. The only evidence are some hair samples from what may have been a butchered poodle. You send the hairs for analysis at an FBI lab only to be told that the hairs are not from a poodle from from a goatee wearing man and the hairs had a slight air of "Summer's Eve"!

-Forever Blue
-All I want is your love
(CI intro'd this with an anecdote about the legendary goatee wearing man who used to travel throughout the once heavily wooded area, offering his services to pleasure the womenfolk) -Diddley Daddy

After intermission CI came out in the mirror suit which, I must say looks fantastic from far away (every other time I have seen him I was right up front). Did I mention that he did the first part of the show in a purple velvet sequined suit (never saw it before -- he was a dream but I digress.)

-SM 2000
-Blue Hotel
-Two Hearts
-Happy Birthday to Kenney (they brought out that small acoustic drum kit with balloons. It was tres sweet!)
-Only the Lonely (with the same small drum kit)
-SF Days
-Bonnie Bee

I hope I didn't miss anything here. I had a wonderful time and the guys were really hot (musically speaking)! Hersh really killed it on "Diddley Daddy". Kenney had a hot solo too but I don't remember the song(forgive me but I can't read my own scribble -- goddess though i think I am, I can't write, dance, sing-a-long and rock simultaneously, CI&S send me into overload!) The best part is that I went at the last minute as an early birthday gift to myself and i got a pic with KDJ!! Minor crimp: he wasn't allowed to sign tix or programs by the handlers. I think he seemed bummed about that but business is business. Thanks CI&S!!
