Dodgerdog's Cal Speedway Review
Posted by Dodgerdog
First off, had a great time!!! The guys had so much energy. The only negative was that there were drunk people around us, and there were girls getting on top of guys shoulders right in front of us. I had to ask a girl to get down so I could take pictures. She was nice enough to get down though.
The guys were wearing the red outfits, while Chris was wearing the blue sequined one. Chris made a reference to the outfits. He said that the guys represented the flames of hell, while he was stuck in it. He said that the audience was his salvation.
Somebody threw a Harley Davidson cap on stage, and Chris went over to pick it up and he put it on. He left it on for awhile, then he put it on Herschel's head. Herschel had it on side ways, then put it on with the bill in the back. After a song or two, he put the cap on Roly's head. It really seems that they have so much fun at these concerts. It also seems as if they try to one-up each other.
There was a time when Chris was telling the audience that Kenney used to drive the pace car at NASCAR events. Then Chris asked Kenney what type of car it was (I was thinking it was the entrance to the nude color Ford Probe joke). Then Kenney said, "It was a stock 19(??) Gremlin. Orange". You can tell that the guys didn't know what Kenney was going to say, cause they all started laughing. Then Chris made a joke about it being a "stock" car as opposed to another kind. Then he asked Kenney if that was the car with the denim uplostry, and Kenney said yes. They were cracking each other up.
Chris also cleaned up his jokes, it was a family event, after all. Now to the songs. I don't remember them all and maybe I'm adding some in that I think he performed, but here it goes:
Wandering
Flying
Please
I'm Not Sleepy
Speak of the Devil
Go Walking Down There
BDABBT
Dancin'
I Want Your Love
Wicked Game
Somebody's Crying
Super Magic 2000
Blue Hotel
Only The Lonely
(A Donovan song)- Chris was amazed the crowd knew the lyrics.
(A spanish song)
Guess Things Happen That Way - Johnny Cash song
Gone Ridin' - Chris told Herschel to change guitars for this song, and when Herschel had the new guitar, Chris and Kenney started playing Return to Me. Herschel gave them a look as if to say, "Come on".
San Francisco Days - NASCAR days
Bonnie BI think that's it, not really sure. There was a point when they kept playing songs, and Chris said, "Forget the set list" and he threw it out into the audience.
