My last night with Chris in San Juan

Hey all. well i'm back home from CA. my week has gone be so fast and it doesn't seem real. i still have to pinch myself to make sure. i hope your in for a long reading.

On Fri. my friend Judy and I (she's the one that got to dance with chris on stage at the HOB on Thurs.) drove down to San Juan Capistrano to see what was supposed to be my last concert of Chris. When we first got there it was about 4:30 in the afternoon outside the coach house. judy was outside using the payphone and i was inside getting my tickets for that nights show. just as i got behind judy who else would show up but CI&S. chris was in a gray suit and a playing card tie. he looked really good. he recognized us right away. the giddy person that i am. i was jumping up and down telling judy to stop talking to whoever it was and say hi to him. she said a quick hi and went back on talking on the phone. she didn't seem to be excited as i was. he said to us, "i'm glad you guys came." needless to say i was like spaghetti. i couldn't get a word out, but a small sqeak. judy said thanks and he was gone. the band stopped by and said hi to us too. sigh... the rest of the night went by pretty calmly until after the show. as all the people were lining up to get autographs, judy and i stayed back. i met up with this guy matt. he was the guitar technicians son and it was his 21 b-day. he was kinda drunk that night. but he managed to strike up a conversation where he invited me to a party they where having at the doubletree. that was where chris was staying. he said that i should come. his dad was about to go to the hotel so i had to me a quick decision. i was a bit weary about the whole situation and decided not to go. i don't know about you guys but i'm pretty naive and i was going to be going alone. judy was talking to roly and i walked in on there conversation. he asked her if she knew the song the played called, "judy." she said no. she had only started to listen to their music since last Tues. he said she should come tomorrow and they might sing it. she said that she couldn't go because i (betty) had bought the very last ticket. but maybe he (roly) could get her in (wink. wink.) he said maybe. and then we went home that night. we also got a chance to talk to wes cunningham. he was the opening act. he's truely down to earth and if you ever get the chance to see him go. i'm going to see him here in austin and dallas next month. now on to Sat. night...

i got to the show by myself while judy was in the hotel room studying and had so so seats. i watch people tip the host and they got better seats. so i along with 4 other people paid $10 extra and got half of a private room on the second level. pretty cool. i saw wes do his opening act as usual. after he finished i had to go to the bathroom. while i was in line i saw roly. he asked my where judy was. i said that she could get a ticket and so she's back at the hotel room studying. he said that she should come. i told him she couldn't because it was sold out. SO he told me to go get her and her name would be on the list to get in. HOLY CRAP!!! i ran upstairs got my keys and wallet and raced to the holiday inn running 1 red light to get judy. when i got there she was less than thrilled to hear that she was going to another concert. she was in the middle of learning about excretion and deficating. she really didn't really want to go. but i forced her anyway. she could belive that she was getting in for free. (these tickets were $65 each so it wasn't cheap at all). when we got back i showed her the room that we bought and met up with wes in the hallway. he invited us into his room and we chatted and talked for awhile. we took pictures and autographs too. when how comes in to the room but chris himself. he points to every one in the room going "Knucklehead, Knucklehead, Knucklehead..." he was wearing his blue velvet suit and he looked really got from a foot away. he recognized us again and gave us a little wink and went on his way to start the show. we weren't in our seats when the show started. we continued to talk to wes and his band missing the first song. i would feel bad but this was my fifth concert in a row and the songs are the same. i could hear it really well though. we went back to our seats and watched the rest of the concert. i was periodically talking to members of wes's band so i didn't actually see the concert. they are really interesting group of guys. They told me how they took pics of themselves with wearing it. i told them that i want to see these pics when they come to TX. each of them where posing in it, one was sexy, one was elvis, and i couldn't remember the others. anyways, it was coming to the last song of the concert (by the way he sang sweet leilani and blue darlin' i've never heard him do it live but it was good) and bonnie bee started up. 2 girls started to come up on stage (no hoochi mamas that night thank god) and chris walks over to our direction and looks into our room as he walks on people tables and pointed straight at judy. reluctantly judy went on stage agian and started to do her little dance. she looked to cute on stage. she starts dancing and along came hershel and starts to mimic her. it was so funny the way they were dancing hershel told us later on the kenney almost missed his beat laughing. for those of you there you know what i'm talking about. they have it on video and i'm going to try and get a copy of the tape.

After the show we stayed back to get auographs. judy got everyone to sign her sotd cd. chris came outside from his signing booth to give judy a kiss on the ear. it was too cool. i wish that he kissed me but no luck. we talked to the band and everyone was still talking about her. she told me that people where on chat lines talking about how cute she was. is that true? we then stood outside to get pics. judy was just about to position herself next to chris when he decides to picke her up like a man carrying his wife over the threshold. i got a pic of that. he then ask "can i keep her? i promise she won't die like the rest of them?" i just about busted a gut laughing. he then took a pic with me and then judy, chris, and i together. it was too sweet. he then kisses judy on the cheek and gives me a hug but no kiss and says "you guys are welcomed anytime." and that was the end of our unbelievable night. i know that was long, but i hope it was amusing for you guys. i still can't believe that it's over.
