Saturday's Tahoe Show Review
Posted by sidekick
I've been reading this board for a while now, but don't usually post anything, but I figured, hey, what better way to start posting than with a show review? So here goes and please excuse the typos and misspellings.
I went up to tahoe originally to go skiing, but was happily surprised to see that CI&S were in town so after a half day of skiing in great snow, I dragged my friend Heather who had never been to a CI&S concert before to the show Saturday night. We were sitting pretty far back , but had a decent view of the stage. The boys came out right on time looking better than ever. Chris's suit with its spiralling sequins reminded me of Van Gogh's starry night. So cool. They came out playing Wanderin' I believe and a couple other songs from SOTD and then Chris started talking about how the people at the Friday night concert got ripped off because the guys had discussed the fact that they had to play two shows and had decided to save up their energy and play all the good stuff on Saturday. This included something about saving the metaphorical Viagra for Saturday. It was pretty funny. The boys were tight all evening--played everything absolutely perfectly.
This is the set list in no particular order.
Wanderin', I'm not sleepy, Please, Flying, This Time, Speak of the Devil, SuperMagic 2000, Diddley Daddy, Go Walkin' Down there, Somebody's Crying, Wicked Game, Blue Darlin', Blue Spanish Sky, BDABBT, Two Hearts, Blue Hotel, San Francisco Days, Bonnie Bee. That's to the best of my recollection so sorry if I missed anything.Blue Spanish Sky was absolutely beautiful in my opinion. What he did vocally on that song was just amazing. The storytelling was scarce, but funny as usual. I wish he had told a few more, but that's just me. When he came out in the mirrored suit that my friend Heather has heard so much about, but never seen, she couldn't stop laughing. Kept calling him a walking disco ball. I think she really enjoyed the show. Overall, the show was fantastic. I took a whole bunch of photos so hopefully some decent ones will come out.
After the show, the autograph signing was a bit chaotic. Too many people, not enough space. But I got my poster signed and chatted about the show for a few secs with chris and waited around for pics. He didn't stay very long for pictures, seemed like he was kinda tired. I had a great time at the show, though and really hate the fact that I'm supposed to be getting ready for classes tomorrow. Can't wait to go see the guys in concert again. Sorry if this is long.
Ciao everyone
