San Diego Show 10-29-1998

After leaving home at 2:00pm I arrived at 4th & B at a little before 5:00pm.... I was the first person in line... Literally. At about 5:30pm a few other nice people showed up and I finally had some company. Not to mention the fact that Chris and the guys started sound check about this time and we got a great pre-show concert... Even if we we're listening through the doors. So, after standing around they finally opened the door at 7pm and I was in... Or so I thought. From there was another fifteen minute wait during which time I bought 3 T-shirts (all of them are black with cool B&W pics of Chris on the front). When they finally let us in I ended up having what I think was the best standing room in the house. FRONT ROW CENTER... RIGHT UP NEXT TO THE STAGE!!
The opening act was cool, kind of a grunge band without the whining. I really wish I could remember their name they were cool. When Chris came on he was wearing jeans and a black shirt. When he and the guys started playing everyone rocked out. I was psyched, once Chris came up very close and I touched his boot (God I feel like a goob telling you this).
When he came out for the first encore he was wearing his suit with mirrors all over it He again came close and I got to touch his leg :: tee hee:: Finally On the last song he came close again for a long time and I couldn't resist really getting a good leg feel this time :: Blushes and giggles like a schoolgirl::
Anyway after the show I saw the holy grail of concert keepsakes. THE SET LIST. It was taped to the floor near an amp. So, I just reached out and pulled it off gently, the top tape was already gone but I managed to get the bottom up without ripping it!!! I was soooo proud of myself ::teehee::
Then it was to the Autograph line... Where I spent half an hour waiting to get my set list signed. I also got my pic taken with Chris... I think. See he was getting really tired and said I could get a pic quick so he counted three and I'm not sure weather or not the trigger finger on the lady taking the pic was faster than Chris moving out of the pic.
So that's about it for my odyssey to see Chris Isaak. It was a killer show and I discovered that they're playing an LA show on December 19th. I am ready and willing to go to another show... I'd go to one tomorrow if I could afford it. Teehee. Oh yeah while waiting in line I got the sigs of almost every member of the band. I only didn't get the keyboard player.
