NYC Review

It was an incredible show. My friend said they were much more "ON" than during the NJ show. Highlights:
--Chris went into a very funny story before "BDABBT" about how your girlfriend leaves you and you get home and everything's gone from your house and she wants to pour gasoline all over you and set you afire, etc. "Everything's gone and your refrigerator is filled with science experiments, and you go to your bedroom and the sheets are all...they're all...AKIMBO!" I thought the use of that word was HILARIOUS! (Gotta love a man who can flex his vocabulary muscles so effortlessly!)
--There was the requisite "ragging" on Hersh during the show and some great playfulness on stage with Kenney and Hersh rasslin' each other over Hersh's guitar, etc. Chris did manage to say that Hersh was from NYC--I guess he DOES do that in every town! P.S.--Loved the fez!
--I was a bit surprised that I didn't like "Flyin'" as well live as I do on the CD. Plus he changed the words: "Wednesday she was in my arms, Friday I was flyin'." HUH? AND--I loved "Don't Get So Down..." live! (I'm not crazy about it on the CD.) Chris did an incredible rendition--in fact, there was an absolutely stunning guy standing next to me who looked like he started crying during the song! (Pompadour, spats, alone: MAN, was HE cute!)
--I could not help but notice the red-frocked Asian woman mentioned before, but I don't know about ya'll: I think it's positively AWESOME that older women are pulled up on stage. GOOD FOR HER! She looked like it made her night--her mom was so proud, too! She seemed OK, not pushy to me. Everyone down by the stage was elbowing everyone else. And please--she looked more like she was in her 40s. She was beautiful AND older than 30! (YAY! How refreshing!)
--The guys were very generous, patient, and gracious to each and every fan. They mingled a lot afterward, too, and made sure that everyone got what they wanted as far as getting stuff signed. I just happened to be behind a chick in line who brought in each and every CD cover AND a poster to have them all signed and who boldly laid them all down at once in front of Chris. Talk about chutzpah!
--Chris DID notice my diamond horseshoe ring in the autograph line. He said, "HEY! I like your ring! Did you know Elvis had a ring just like that?" I told him that's why I bought it; he told me that Brian Setzer had the same ring for the same reason. I said, "well, that's my reason!" and he said it was a "good enough reason for me" or something to that effect. It was the focus thing mentioned months back by Flyin', Akemi, Woop, and others: everyone and everything disappears when he zeros in those blue eyes on you--for a few moments you have his complete attention! (sigh) He's such a nice person that way...
--I also want to add that, having seen them several times now, I never really even noticed Roly, but for some reason I realized during the NYC show that he really is VERY handsome! He photographs quite well, too. (I KNOW I'm going to get flamed for saying this--eek!)
--Guess that's it! I hate it because I know I'm missing a lot of stuff here...all in all it was an unforgettable, surreal night that I will not soon forget. What fun we had! Thanks, guys!!!!
