Show at pier 30/32

As Chris said, it was a beautiful night even though it got breezy about halfway through the concert. Funny thing is, by the end of the show the breeze stopped and it was warm again. They are really building up that area of San Francisco. There are a lot of new palm trees all along the Embarcadero. The ball park is so gorgeous too. Its really become a beautiful part of town.
Chris was in an excellent mood. The whole band was having fun. He seemed to play longer than usual but that could be my imagination. He started late and ended at about 8:30. Thats when the fireworks started. By the way, the opening act, Stroke 9 was very good too.
He was wearing a suit Ive never seen before, I dont know if its new. It was deep purple with sequined starbursts. The band was wearing red suits with black Giants T-shirts underneath.
Songs I remember, in no particular order:
Dancin
Im Not Sleepy
Speak of the Devil
Please
He started singing Return to Me but then changed one of the lines to I was born that way (it was funny) and stopped singing it.
BDABBT
Go Walkin Down There
San Francisco Days
Think of Tomorrow
I Want Your Love
Only the Lonely
Blue Hotel
Diddley Daddy
Wicked Game
Somebodys Crying
FlyingHe asked Doug to bring just one girl on stage, while he was waiting he sang Blues Stay Away from Me (or something like that). When the girl Vicki from San Jose came on stage. He told her all you need to do is move your hips. Then he sang Hip Shake (?) She seemed really nice. Chris said he was driving to San Jose with her after the show (I think he was kidding). She had a pretty coat with a fur collar. Chris was rubbing the fur against his face (I hope he wasnt sweaty). Then he put it over Kenneys shoulders. Kenney was down front using the drum kit at that point. He sang a couple of other songs with her on stage. I think one was Blue Darlin. Then started singing Bonnie Bee and asked others to come on stage. Two guys went up too. It was fun to watch. I was disappointed he didnt sing any of the new songs
He told the same jokes for the most part, some with a different twist to them. Said you might be in the Sunset in a dingy room and you wake up, still weak and still tied to the bedpost, and you look over and youll see me wearing some kind of two piece black spandex thing with sequins and youll say oh Chris no stop, your sequins are chafing me. He mentioned the lonely people at the 7-11 a couple of times. He kept mentioning the Sunset too. He said Philadelphia is not the city of brotherly love, San Francisco is. Everybodys lovin everybody else all over the place. Anything can happen in SF and anything goes. The Hershel story as an intro to Diddley Daddy was a little long in my opinion.
He did some stripper hip grinding moves with his hands behind his head, the band started playing a strip song.
After the show he was signing merchandise only. There was a new T-shirt (sorry, I thought it was boring) to commemorate the day. I think they should have done something with baseball shirts, theyre in style now. You know, the ones with the three quarter length sleeves. They probably didnt have much time to get it together. The shirts they were selling were plain white T-shirts with Chris Isaak Opening day April 11, 2000 on them. They had other, better T-shirts and merchandise too. Not too many people were buying merchandise or having anything signed. I thought there would be a lot more people at the show too.
All in all it was a lot of fun. They were giving out yummy free Jamba Juice in a Giants plastic mug, free yogurt, lots of free stuff. Who can complain about anything thats free.
