Vail Review

Went to the Vail show last week. They kicked ass. I guess Brett is from Denver and his mom (found this out later) was in the audience, so they were all hamming it up. CI gave Brett some extra time in the limelight. And Chris was in rare form as they had a couple of days off after that show...until Leno I guess. Roly said they were leaving soon for Australia and asked me if we Denver folks would get the Broncos game the 7th. As if they wouldnt broadcast it here! the girls sitting next to us and all the folks around us were CI virgins, so they kept asking me stuff. Nothing i like better than being the local expert--especially on CI and the boys! Chris told all the usual jokes, gasoline, poodle hairs, etc. He did take a request during the encore for two hearts. I was hoping for Winter Waves, but no such luck. I told everyone around to get an autograph after the show and they were so impressed with Our Boy's willingness to do that!

I had him sign a sweatshirt I bought before the show (I wore it--It was so damn cold!) And I asked him to sign the pic of him kissing me...thinking he would give me some tidbit to chew on a few months, but no. Instead, he said Kim, (that blew me away--remembering my name--or was I hearing things??) HE (with pen-waving action towards shirt seller guys-)doesnt like it when I sign this kind of thing. He hates it." I was crushed and lamely tried to tell him it was of him...that I meant no harm...but he was on to the next person. Oh well, he is a prince anyway.

One of the virgins next to me said she worked at the hotel where they were all staying and that CI was staying under an assumed name. So we went there to a lovely little piano bar in the hotel and the road crew guys were there and some older lady who looks a little asian who seemed to know all was there with them. Who would that be?? Anyway, Brett came in with his mom, got a couple of drinks and said hi to me on the way to a table. I felt very cool. Then roly did the same but he left right after one drink. Then Chris came in with Doug and joined Brett at his table and chatted away with Brett and mom for a long time. Doug stayed only a few minutes and left.

There were some Hoochie mamas at the table next to us, and some new fans at another table who couldnt believe they were in the same bar as the Handsome One. They just stared, as did I. He looked great in dark denim jeans, cowboy boots a t-shirt and denim jacket. Yum. I had talked to him for a milisecond in the autograph line , so I didnt want to intrude, but my gutsy friend did. As we left, she walked up, excused herself and said great show, etc. Chris saw me hanging back and asked if the shy quiet one was with her, and she said yes, and then he asked me how I was, etc. We chatted about the show and how great they were, etc. He remembered I was from Denver, so he asked if we were driving back that nite, he appreciated our coming, drive safe in the morning, etc. Very sweet.

Needless to say, I did go home on cloud nine in spite of the pic thing...Hope all is well with you!
