We recently crossed paths with Jack Nicholson at Lot 61, a New York restaurant that acts as a celebrity magnet. When we asked if Nicholson had done anything lately to improve his appearance, he arched an eyebrow, stared skeptically at the tape recorder, and kept walking.

Fortunately, other stars were more forthcoming. We stopped sexpot Salma Hayek at the VH-1 Fashion Awards to inquire about what made her look so fresh. "Getting some sleep," she claimed. Why does Chris Isaak appear corn-fed? "I never smoked a cigarette or drank, and I've always done everything evil that came into my mind." And as for Susan Sarandon, things turned around for her "when I just stopped worrying about it."
