This drawing shows the way most of those small canned crystal
oscillators are connected. Pin 1 may have any of several
functions, depending on the particular device you have. Some are
output control (On-Off/Tri-State), VCO frequency, etc.).
CAUTION: There may be
some devices out there that do not conform to this pinout, so when in
doubt, check the manufacturer's literature.
