Instead of using a wet
sponge for cleaning your
soldering iron tip, try a metalic (steel wool) scouring
pad. Get the course type
if possible. The very fine
type steel wool will compact and/or pick up solder,
while the course type will not
pack or become solder
saturated. Use a small metal or glass container to
hold your tip cleaner.
