Bike Preparations - Page 2
Here is the not-so-high-tech GPS mount. The Garmin GPS is in a BodyGlove case, taped to the Defelctor Screen support arm. This puts the GPS right where I need it, is rock solid and cost's about 3 cents worth of electrical tape. Changing batteries is a pain however. Tourtech eat your heart out!

Also shown in the map pouch on the Ortlieb Waterproof Tank Bag, and just above it the fanny pack (below the gloves). To the right side, you can just see the small camera case, where I store the GPS and/or gas reciepts.
August of '02, took a trip to Orifino, ID. This picture taken in Lewiston ID, and shows the new "saddle bag" I made from a inexpensive backpack ($18). There is going to be a second one on the other side. Made the 1023 mile trip (including ~ 30 miles of gravel roads) with no problems.I doubled the original milage of the bike on this trip; now at ~ 16K miles.
May 2003. Showing off the new paint, the new alluminum saddle boxes and the aux fuel tank. The tank has not been plumbed in this picture, the rear marker lights haven't been added, and I still have the old seat cover on. No, it's NOT a BMW, that was a friends idea of humor!
