"Mommy and Daddy's Marmaduke"
You and Mommy rescued me from a certain death.
I was in shelter about to take my last breath.
Even with my conditions you gave me a home,
At last I have a family, no longer alone.
You an Mommy loved me for who I was,
A dog with bad hips and you loved me just because.
You gave me a home with lots of love,
But now I am playing with Frannie, up in heaven above.
I know I left you and Mommy way too soon,
But I will always be watching over the entire family from the brightest star next to the moon.
I will be thinking of all the good times where they began,
Waiting to "Marmaduke" you once again.
That unsuspecting wet tongue against your cheek,
As you lay sleeping on the couch, temptation is just too sweet! :)
I will always be pawing for both of you and know that from my heart,
Our memories of each other will never be far apart.
I know it broke your hearts taking me to the vet,
But it was done with love, I have no regrets.
I will always love the both of you, but now I must go,
Think of me when you look up at the night sky and see the brightest glow.
I can see Frannie!! She says hello too!
She said I was blessed to have parents such as you.
We are going to run and jump and play,
I am pain free, today is a good day!
Know that my spirit will always be with you, and yours with me.
Just know that I am playing with Frannie, finally pain free.
Thank you for having the love to let me go,
The end was hard but you loved me, and that I know.
Mommy and Daddy I will always love you, that will never end,
So please dont cry for me, allow your hearts to mend.
