IS IT NOT ONLY A GAME

Why do I come here?   Why do I stay?

For some reason it happens, day after day.

There are so many people, some good and a few bad

They bring tears at times, some happy some sad

We play together, against or as a team

We help each other in our time of need

But it is the ratings that continue to lead

We fight for a book, a bag and then a set

Just try to remember, we are friends and this is where we met

It is a game, color should not matter

If you are so hung up on height, climb a damn ladder

Yellow, orange and green or red

You should be welcome at any table, "enough said"

Just remember where you started, you were a PROV too

You can change your name always, but your personality will follow you

Don't hurt those around you, it is only a game

Win or lose, just have fun, it will be the same

Stop fighting and cursing and put a smile on your face

YES, I know I am new here, but this can be a better place

Ratings mean nothing to me as my record shows

Just do us a favor, come down a few notches and stop snubbing your nose

I will now go and i will say no more

Just know at my table, there is a welcome mat at my door

Please email Joe on comments about this poem he'd love to hear from you .... thank you  *S*

I have been lucky enough to read some of Jackal's  (Joe's) poetry.   When he asked me about this one I jumped at the chance to put it into my site because I believe it to be so true.   Amazing how some people just have a better insight of things then others.   Thank you Joe for this chance to bring this open idea to more.
