Shameless Self Promotion
Connecticut is my home (and  state the American Radio Relay League is headquartered -use the link to find out how you can join in the hobby - its easier than you might have thought). Fun and the promotion thereof is my primary motivation for posting a web site and if you have any suggestions (that are in line with the topics here) please drop me a note.

I like to describe myself as a persistent learner, curious about nearly everything. My current focus is database technology and the web. To this end I am studying Perl, CGI, Postgresql (an object oriented database management system) and a host of other topics. One of the things I would like to accomplish with these efforts is to make the web more accessible to individuals and businesses, in a manner that does not require a substancial investment.
Answer a question for me -
                  Computers Are:
1 A vastly complicated set of programs, hardware, and protocols that are becoming a required component in our daily lives.
2 Magic - plain and simple - too complicated to be fully understood completely by any one individule.
3 A tool, nothing more.

Check out the Free Software Foundation. They have something for everyone! Perl Monks is more specialized but has a wealth of information.
Scientific American has an Ask The Experts section that I enjoy alot.

I'm into some fractal images (mostly for the wonder).
ImageMagick Converts .bmp (bitmap) format to .jpeg with its convert tool!
What do you Think?
