Rose... Stays in the VIKING HELMET, and wins the coveted Deathskinada "Death's Head" Trophy...

Chris Rose and Jim Kobak played the chess match that is the Deathskinada to a draw. But, Rose was awarded the prestigious "Death's Head" trophy by the race jury by virtue of skiing the fastest lap of the day. "I planned my strategy all day long, I made extra worksheets so my students could be kept busy while I planned for this race... It paid off, but it was a little too close... The skiing was good, but doing the math was tough, I'm glad I got credit for showing my work." Kobak again finished second in this Nordic Armageddon race. He and Rose barely held off Charlie Mitchell, "I was all about consistency today, but unfortunately, in this race consistency sucks." said a somewhat pleased Mitchell. Impressive today while making his season debut, was Andy "Sage of Suffering" Sajor (one time Antarctic International National Champion). Andy missed a podium spot by a whisker. "I would be upset about not placing in the top three if it wasn't for the quality of the field today. I am pleased with my effort."
