MitcHELLbeiner Skistadion will host the Monsters of Rock 12km race on Sunday 1/21/2007. Note: The race format HAS BEEN CHANGED TO CLASSIC TECHNIQUE

To eliminate the trail devastation seen at Old Forge, the race will be capped at 70 entries. Register online at www.nyssranordic.com. Open/Masters skiers will be first on the course. 30 second intervals starting at 10:30 AM. Juniors will go off at 11:15 AM. All skiers will ski 12 km. Awards at 12:30 AM. There are no indoor facilities at Mitchellbeiner Skistadion.

Leif Torgeson has graded conditions as a "solid C to C+, the road is near perfect, the field is in good shape, the back loop has a few stumps and thin spots. The wet spot is near frozen. Rock skis are reccomended." The groomer has set track over the course. The plan is to leave it alone, and let the brutally cold air set things up over the next two days. Then, there will be just a little course prep (shoveling) that needs to be done to get it race ready. If you are willing to volunteer with course prep or on race day, please contact Jim at [email protected]
