Rose paces Wynn to capture his first Sufferfest title.

Veteran's Day-  "When I was really hurting... I thought of the struggles that our veterans have gone through... that's what kept me going."  With a patriotic show of strength Chris Rose captured his fourth straight pre-season victory on the slopes of Prospect Mt.  Rose, the 6th seed, made his move at the "flat section."  Seeing this attack, Mike Wynn pulled off at the parking area, had a picnic lunch, picked some daisys, painted a watercolor of the beautiful view, and then jumped back on the course.  Wynn had to muscle by the freight-train that is Bob Maswick.  Wynn picked off a weary Jim Kobak as he faded during the final kilometer.  With Rose in his sights, Wynn was driving desperately for the coveted KOOL preem, repeating to himself, "must catch Rose... must catch Rose..."  Rose, in a near panic as the whirlWynnd approached, summoned an inner strength, channelling the war heroes of old, like Patton, U.S. Grant and Molly Pitcher, held the line and stormed to the finish.  It was a great triumph.  And for the rest of the NYSSRA scene, it may become a day that will live in infamy.
