Peas with Bacon Gravy
1/4 lb bacon, cut into small pieces
1 16 oz bag frozen peas
1 medium onion sliced
2 tablespoons flour
1 1/2 cups chicken broth or water
salt and pepper to taste
Cook bacon in large deep skillet until crisp. Remove bacon with slotted spoon. Add onion to skillet and cook until golden. Sprinkle on flour. Cook until lightly colored, about 3 minutes. Add chicken broth or water. Stir until flour is mixed in. Bring to a boil. Add peas, cook until tender. Season with salt and pepper. Remove from heat and top with cooked bacon pieces.
