Sprints...can you say DUSTY???
It was a long night last night with the sprints making the track as dusty as can be.. The heat race started out ok then the dash was cut short when I blew the bead on the right rear and had to enter the infield..the track was beginning to get rough especially in turn 1 and 2. The feature was long, dusty and rough!~! Poor Rick...when the 75 hit the wall in the first lap I slowed down to see where he was going and Rick decided to try to pass me on the outside..not a good plan!! I caught the hood of the 75 as it flew through the air and ran it over and Rick caught the back end of the 75 and sheared his spindle and snapped a ball joint... I continued for many laps driving hard through the corners until the 77 put me into the tires..the tow truck had to lift me back down and we were back to racing..several laps later the 77 and I duelled for position and my car got a push in turn 3 and I ended up in the infield..Not realizing that this was in fact my second spin (I was desperately trying to catch my breath) I continued out onto the track not realizing the flagman was not directing me to the back of the field but off the track.. For some reason there were no radio transmission in the dash or the feature. I think these are one of the best additions to racing at South Buxton and have made for quick cautions and lineups. I hope they will resolve the issue soon and we will have them back. See you there next week! 2006-07-16 15:09:50 GMT
