Fun night at the track...well almost! We had some special visitors this week from BOLTON, ON. Christine Pyndiura and her two daughters Holly and Nicole. It was their first time ever to a racetrack and a good time was had by all. I think we have a few new fans!! I will post some pics later this week. I had a great time toodling around in the heat race trying out a few new things with the car and got a 4th. The pursuit was another matter entirely! Brad M in the 43 got totally dirty and bashed me in turn 1 and as if that was not bad enough, he then hit me again and pushed me. This caused a great deal of front end problem and I was barely able to hold on to the car in the feature. We got a 6th place which we are not complaining about but it was a thrash and not very enjoyable. The car was pushing so badly I had to slow way down to keep from flying off the end in both corners. Rob Young was away this week on holiday with his family and crewman Peter Wenzler stepped up to the plate and took charge of making sure the car was sound for the races and we had the proper stagger and pressures. GREAT JOB PETER!! On a heavier note, I am sure most of you already know that my husband Rick has been diagnosed with cancer and will be going in for Major surgery Monday August 14. It will be a lengthy procedure and we are very hopeful of a great outcome. I want to thank everyone that has come and let us know that they wish us well, it means alot! We both love racing so much and it is where we want to be. Rick will not be back in a car this year but if all goes well, we will find him a new car to race this winter and he will back again in the spring. He should be back at the track in the a few weeks to watch and cheer us on as usual. Thanks to everyone and watch the blog for updates this week. I will try to update nightly on his progress. God Bless you all. Elizabeth 2006-08-14 02:28:03 GMT
