Good news and bad news.
The good news is that our computer is running lightning-quick and much, much better than it was before.
The bad news is that we toasted our hard drive and had to get another one. Not too expensive, which was good. So I've been reinstalling and trying to get Outlook Express working again. It needs a little more tweaking.
Other good stuff going on in Kate's world: We have an appointment on Nov. 9 to get internet installed at our apartment. Woo-hoo! And it's cheaper than we expected. Double woo-hoo!
Also, I have an appointment today to go check out a Curves near Ft. Drum. Kristy and I had gone to one while she was visiting (she's a member back in her town) and I loved it. I'm usually a walker--I love walking--but it's only fun if you have someone to walk with and a good place to do it. Unfortunately, no one else I know in this area shares my love of hoofing it, and the winter makes it very difficult to do anything outside except shovel snow and fall down. Most people around here don't take very good care of their sidewalks in the winter. They'll get the snow off, but leave the ice. I feel sorry for the mail carriers. Sometimes I walk on the roadway because it's better maintained than the sidewalks.
So anyway, this seems like an awesome alternative. The best part is that I don't have very far to go to reach my goal. I'm just barely within the "obese" range on the BMI scale. So I only have about 35 pounds to lose to get down within the "normal" range. (Note: A nurse told me the BMI scale is off and is in the process of being adjusted to more realistic weight ranges. I'm still using the current one as a guide, though.)
Anyway, that's all for now!
