We'll we are starting on the gardens - takes a lot to get the jungle cut back! Thank you Robert, Don and Diane!! Robert is the destruction crew - a mad man cuttign the jungle back, Don is the landscaper and prunes and clips after him. Diane has been lovingly raking and nurturing! A good team. I wander around puttign new plants in pots and gettign seeds and clippings!
Found two papaya trees - one even has blossoms on it. Clearing circles around it so we can get it more sunlight and compost smoothie on its roots! (a compost smoothie is whatever would typically go into a compost pile but we use old blender - add water and blend into a puree or smoothie. Pour directly onto plants. Keeps white flies and gnats down and rats away from your typical compost pile!)
Mango tree still needs pruning but one day at a time. Banana patch has one very young stalk of bananas on it! Should be ready in about 30-45 days maybe. There are about 8-10 banana trees and they should all start doing better as we get smoothie'd and more sunlight to them. Working on small planting areas - have lettuce and beans to plant this week.
Coconuts of course are enmasse at all times of year. We broke some open and ate coconut and drank coconut milk a few nights ago. Could open 10 a day for weeks and still have to many. Unfortunately coconuts aren't much of a barter item as every one has too many already!!
Robert (usually the Grinch) wanted to get a Xmas Tree / I didn't - so we compromised - I am going to get a rosemary topiary plant that looks like a small christmas tree - that way after xmas it will be a garden plant and I can shape it into a different topiary design!! ha ha
Okay thats it for now! Looking forward to seeing you all soon!
