We were all sitting on the deck a few afternoons ago and a Hawaiian Hawk came and sat in our tree about eye level with the deck and no more than 8' away. He just sat and watched us. Mark had time to go get his camera and take a picture of it. Although Hawaiian Hawks are not endangered, it is rare to be able to see one so close!
