| M-Flo |
| This popular three member group burst onto the J-Pop scene in early 2000 bringing a totally new sound to radio airwaves and dance clubs in Japan. Their blend of rap, hip-hop, and soul music was like a breath of fresh air in an industry that usually doesnft reward difference. The three members of the group, at that time, met at international schools in Japan. They later formed the unit Meteorite Flo, with each member bringing something different to the group; LISA (vocals and lyrics), Verbal (rap, lyricist) and DJ Taku (Beats and Melodies). After breaking into the music industry they shortened the name (it was hard to pronounce for some Japanese people) and M-Flo was born. Some of their biggest hits include gL.O.T. (Love or Truth)h, gHow you like me now?h, and gCome Againh. However, in late 2002 after a long break it was announced that LISA would pursue a solo career and therefore not return to the group. This would have been a shock to any unit, but M-Flo recovered by collaborating with other big name J-Pop stars under the moniker gM-Flo loves ______h. And has produced a couple of solid outings including last yearsf huge hit M-Flo loves Crystal Kayfs gReewindh, which they performed at the MTV Japan music video awards in 2003. So M-Flo flows on and who knows how far they will go. |
