The ground effects, for example, were designed by one of GM's top stylists and tested in the GM Aerodynamics Laboratory wind tunnel. The tough Reaction Injection Molded (RIM) polyurethane material will keep its good looks for years. The ground effects are available separately or as part of the F-1 Specialty Vehicle Sport Package. This package includes: left and right rocker panel extensions, a front air dam, a rear bumper extension, a three-piece rear spoiler, V-8 cold air induction system, V-8 performance exhaust system and ornamentation (four pieces). The body pieces come in a factory primer ready for painting.

The Specialty Vehicle graphics evoke the distinctive paint treatment on classic Camaro Z28s of the '60s. These self-adhesive stripes are offered in four colors (black, silver, red and gold), and include complete installation instructions. Exclusive ornamentation package and optional floor mats identify the GM Performance Parts Specialty Vehicle as something special.

A variety of wheel and tire packages are available to enhance the Camaro's grip on the asphalt. Wheels are available in 16" x 8" and 17" x 9" versions wrapped with P245/50ZR-16 and P275/40ZR-17 BFGoodrich Comp T/A radial tires respectively.

Improved air flow is the key to the GM Performance Parts Specialty Vehicle's enhanced engine performance. The cold-air induction package features dual 2.5" diameter inlet tubes with performance filters. A 3" cat-back stainless steel exhaust system with a high-flow muffler improves engine efficiency. These modifications raise the output of the Z28's 5.7-liter LT1 small-block to approximately 300 horsepower, and shorten zero-to-60 times accordingly. A short-throw Hurst shifter is also available for Camaros equipped with six-speed manual transmission to help the driver keep up with the horses.

GM PERFORMANCE PARTS F-1 SPECIALTY VEHICLE PRICING

In response to the many questions from people curious/interested in purchasing components offered through GM for the F-1 Camaro, I have re-created this basic listing. It is simply a guide for comparing prices and is not intended as an official price list. I firmly believe that if you can obtain pricing at/around the TRADE price listed, you've gotten yourself a pretty good deal. Paying a little more than that is not a bad thing...suppliers need to make money too! The prices will usually fall somewhere between the Trade and List numbers and may be negotiable. However, many places will quote you LIST or higher...if so, don't hesitate to shop around. I had all components ordered and installed at my local GM dealer after visiting 4 other dealerships and obtaining quotes that varied by more than $1,000 on the basic kit alone! If you'd like to get more information, visit your local GM Parts Department and pick up a copy of GM's Performance Parts Catalog for about $7 or simply discuss it with them. These prices DO NOT include painting or installation. I have added those at the bottom, based on my vehicle.
