NORTHWOODS SUMMER
Sunshine kissing my cheek
Water flowing in the creek
Birds flitting on a tree
Flowers call the buzzing bee
Winds that caress my hair
Daily weather that is fair
Skies painted in bright blue
Rainbows showing every hue
Grass that tickles my feet
Earth that smells so sweet
Dragonflies on the dart
Ants ready to do their part
Showers cleansing a new day
Mosquitoes can take you away
Walks along an empty beach
Bird's nests that you can reach
Summer in the northern wood
Resting here is very good
Chilly winter memories fade
Just a blanket and some shade
