Relentless NATO air attacks are inflicting "punishing" damage on the Red military units in the Murmansk area. ACLANT now believes that most of the Red air force in the Kola has been destroyed either in the air or on the ground. The goal of many of the attacks is to totally isolate the Murmansk area from the rest of the Kola by striking the ground transportation links to the west, south and east.

Joint NATO / Blue Russian air operations are continuing and proving to be highly effective. Red resistance in the St Petersburg area has collapsed under heavy air and ground attack. The once formidable Red power base is rapidly shrinking with each new defeat.

Blue Russian army units have now begun to mass just south of the Kola in preparation for a large offensive that will drive northward to Murmansk. To support this, a second US CV battlegroup has arrived in the Barents Sea along with a US Marine Amphibious group. When the Blue Russian offensive in the south begins, Marines will land near Teriberka Inlet on the northern coast of the Kola Peninsula and will advance on Murmansk from the East. ACLANT hopes that this two pronged approach will bring a swift end to the conflict.
