• Admission is open and free to all. There is no charge whatsoever.
• Similarly, anyone may design courses. At any level. JOU will insert an ad at the top of the page. The person designing the course gets to insert their Google Ad at the bottom of the page. Other than that, there is no monetary exchange between JOU and those who design courses.
• K-12 level courses are to be self-regulated or done so in co-operation with family members, school teachers and the like.
• Above that level, a candidate should exhibit to have gone through all required readings and come up with some original thinking, shown in a paper they write that they publish online, freely accessible to the online audience. The paper length is 5000 words minimum per course at the undergraduate level.
• All required reading materials should be freely available online.
• JOU will publish its list of graduates. Prospective employers will have access to all the work the candidates did towards their degrees. They have a right to recognize the degrees or not.
• There are no deadlines. Candidates work towards their degrees at their own self-determined paces.
