more jackie chan films and pictures
there are actually too many to mention right now, jackie has made loads of films, and they all have good points (except some very early ones like half a loaf of kung fu, and fantasy mission force). so i'll just mention a couple more that i can remember and maybe come up with a more comprehensive list when i review my collection. i'll also try to get a scan of my signed(!) operation condor book and photo, that jackie made out to me in hong kong in '94 (thanks to my cousin, maggie).

a very fine film, and actually the first one i saw (it started my obsession with martial arts films) was wheels on meals. this film stars the 'three brothers', jackie chan, sammo hung, and yuen biao. although now a little dated (it was probably dated in the 80's, when it was made, but hey) it is still an excellent film, helped by benny the jet.

i am a huge admirer of benny the jet, and when you see his professional record and all his achievements...i'm in awe. check him out on the next page.

the other good film with the three brothers is dragons forever. definitely one to buy. also has benny the jet in it, and even with him wearing eyeliner, you really don't want to mess with this guy. yuen felt he got a bit of a short deal by being made to get knocked out early in the final fight, and i gotta agree with him. this guy is one very talented martial artist, some say more than jackie chan. i say theres not really much point to compare them.

with the other films made in the 80's, jackie hardly missed a beat. police story is amazing, a classic jackie chan film, as is police story 2. police story was actually directed by jackie, and showed the director of the film 'the protector' (another jackie film) how it should be done. armour of God is also pretty good and the sequel also needs mentioning for some excellent stunts. i think this is the film where he was to jump onto a chain very high above some rocks in a cave and slide down, but the chain snags and jackie falls at least 30 feet, landing square on his face. you see him afterwards, and his face is all white from the dust and completely flat, the circumference describing a near perfect circle. project A and project A II are also fine films, and between them they contain many references to the silent movie stars buster keaton and charlie chaplin.
taken from heart of the dragon, where jackie chan must look after his mentally handicapped brother (i think) sammo hung. a serious film with a very hard hitting style of martial arts choreography by sammo hung as martial arts director, unfortunately had two fight scenes deleted to move the focus more on the relationship between jackie and sammo

you know the drill
taken from my lucky stars, another film from the brothers, but also with other people in it that it could do without. but it's a pretty good film, better than it's sequel, twinkle twinkle lucky stars. this is the film where jackie chan calls himself muscles, but everyone else knows him as skinny monkey. but jackie isn't in it enough - it's more of a comedy
taken from my project A, where jackie is an unfortunate sailor guard who gets on the wrong side of his superiors many times. a very good film, very funny - includes the infamous clocktower scene where jackie must fall from a very high clock tower through a shop sunlight guard (sorry my mind has gone blank! - is it a canopy?) onto a hard floor. only it goes horribly wrong and jackie breaks his back. so he tries it again. again, it goes bad, so he tries it a third time. also includes the infamous jumping on a bike with no seat scene. this film must really have hurt jackie, but it's worth it. wicked film.
this is from wheels on meals, near the beginning. to start their day, jackie chan and yuen biao (who live together), do some exercise, culminating in a very fast and excellently choreographed fight. so well done it might even be real, i don't know. but it shows off their skills very well. again, an excellent film.
this is from the last fight in meals on wheels, between jackie chan and benny 'the jet' urquidez, kickboxing legend. jackie has just recieved a bit of a beating - i think maybe he just got hit on the nose benny performs some pretty good moves (he has a good fight earlier as well actually) but is matched well by jackie. a pretty realistic fight, these two guys actually went at each other, although i hear benny had to tone it down a fair bit. more about benny on the next page
