One run was the difference at Jacobs Field as the New England Storm defeated

the Kentucky Colonels in 10 innings 4 to 3.

Both teams were tied at 3 runs apiece after nine innings. New England was

victorious in the 10th inning. Coco Crisp slapped a single. Rod Barajas

came next and he laid down a sacrifice bunt. Alex Cintron got his turn next,

but he was a strikeout victim. Yadier Molina stepped in and he laced a

single scoring the run. New England had 13 hits for the game and Kentucky

had 7.

The win was credited to Jerome Williams(1-0) who went 1 inning allowing no

runs. Williams got help from Danys Baez who earned his 1st save. Chad

England Storm by the score of 6 to 3 at RFK STADIUM.

Kentucky had 3 runs cross the plate in the 2nd inning. The key at-bat was by

Lane who helped quiet the crowd when he bombed a two-run dinger (his 1st of

Mark Buehrle whiffed 11 batters at RFK STADIUM as the Kentucky Colonels beat

the New England Storm by the count of 7 to 1.

Buehrle(1-0) pitched one of his finer games as he simply was too much for the

New England batters. He gave up just 5 hits and 2 walks in 9 innings

lowering his ERA to 3.78. Kentucky banged out 10 on the night.

Freddy Garcia(0-1) was tagged with the loss. Buehrle, when asked about his 11

strikeout performance noted, 'The important thing is that we won, if I get 20

and we lose, what good does it do our team? But, on the other hand, since we

won it feels great!'
