Josie Walker originated the starring role of Mary in Andrew Lloyd Webber's latest musical, The Beautiful Game. Mary is the sweetheart of the musical's male lead, John Kelly, and is carried with him through his triumphs and misfortunes. Ultimately, she must find the courage to create a new life for herself and her son, declaring, "No child was ever born to hate."
The Beautiful Game opened in London at the Cambridge Theatre on September 26, 2000, to largely positive reviews. It closed on September 1, 2001. Rumors have been heard of a limited run in Toronto and US tour sometime on 2002, possibly featuring some of the original cast.

Josie Walker played Christine, the starring role in Andrew Lloyd Webber's smash hit Phantom of the Opera, in both London and on tour around the UK. In the musical, the young ingenue Christine Daae becomes torn between the love of two men, the handome young nobleman Raoul, and the twisted Phantom of the Opera, whose dark soul speaks to the music in her own.
