Hmmmm...interesting. I remember the exact same type of reports back in the 60s and 70s. You may remember Awake! reporting constantly that at the current rate, by now all the churches would be empty. Now those same news clips are being used to show that in just another 22 years (why is it always some 10 or 20 years off?) the churches really will be empty! Promise!
hehe, fun with numbers. Take current trend, assume it will extend forever, and come up with a conclusion! That's how the Awake! knew back in the 70s that by the time we reached the 80s and 90s, our cities would be too dangerous to live in! After all, crime trends would extend forever, riiiight?
Europe is much more apathetic about religion in general. As far as putting the JW "problems in perspective", why don't you compare it to growth rates of Muslims? Or Mormons? Or Hindus? Or even evangelical groups in the U.S.? Now we're talking real religious growth!
