In all the time I've spent in post-secondary education (mind you I have a biology background) I've never heard of such things.
As far as I know heat/entropy is always increasing...all forms of energy are changing to heat and just driving the random motion of particles...the result is that current forms of energy utilized by life-forms will be eventually used up.
