A single look at our universe shows us that even if it were created by some anthropormorphic God that he did not intend for us to live for ever.
On the largest scale, the second law of thermodynamics makes it impossible.
On a smaller scale, our sun has only got a few billion years of life left in it.
On a smaller scale, very large rocks come by and hit the planet every so often; these rocks have caused mass extinctions in the past, and homo sapiens probably won't fare too well when the next one hits. (As opposed to roaches.)
On a smaller scale there are all sorts of biological things that could kill us all. An airborne version of AIDS could do a job on the human race.
On a personal scale, our bodies are not made to last. We do not have infinite storage capacity in our brains, and the genetic code in our very cells keeps them from reproducing forever. (Which protects us from cancers.)
If God were interested in human beings living forever, he might have corrected a few of the universe's design flaws in the analysis stage. Of course, then again, we might be the beta version.
