Fellow Governing Beavers:
In the past we Beavers have made an all out attempt to destroy tree worship. We have cut it down. We have damed the practice. We have literally stripped away its branches so that the birds of heaven may have no place to lay their heads.
It has now come to my attention, however, that it was not the evil Beaver that created trees. That trees, unlike mosquitos or flies have useful purposes. We know, according to the Holy Beaver Words in our sacred incised writings, that we Beavers are big fur trees of righteousness and are to be given the utmost respect by the muskrats of our Lodge. Hence, in the future, it will be perfectly acceptable for all Governing Beavers to proudly adorn themselves, with ornamental array, all the gifts of precious jewelry that we have received as loving gifts by the faithful.
