One can always find anecdotal evidence pointing either way, and there certainly are scientists with prejudice and scientific institutions that foster orthodoxy. Nevertheless, it is hardly a universal trait, and the truth does come out through science sooner or later, regardless of the orthodox opinion.

As for taking the New Testament seriously, what does that have to do with science? Or, more specifically to this thread, to evolution?
