In other words, be obedient to their word as if Jehovah himself had spoken it, since they are a provision by Jehovah.

By what evidence do we conclude that they are a provision by Jehovah? (Note to the inexperienced: their word on it doesn't mean anything at all.)

Does it seem reasonable to expect that these things would be done away with immediately, in some huge flash of light?

Yes, it is not only reasonable; it is required, since their claim to be God's only mouthpiece in modern times is based solely on their teaching that in 1919 Jesus chose them over the other nominal Christian denominations because they alone were doing his will, and that after a short period of "cleansing" they were released from captivity to Babylonish false religious beliefs and practices, in contrast with the other Christian religions whom Jesus rejected at that time because their form of worship was not pure. Research your WBTS literature. It's all right there in plain English, written by "God's mouthpiece."
