if i wa not clear in my post sorry bout thatWith all due respect, your interpretation of what they stated is inaccurate. They did not imply that, as you put it, "if it's in print Jah has spoken." They simply stated that we should "respond to the directions of the 'slave' as we would to the voice of God." In other words, be obedient to their word as if Jehovah himself had spoken it, since they are a provision by Jehovah. What they are saying is in full harmony with Hebrews 13:17. They are not saying that their utterances are inspired, so as to suggest that Jehovah himself has spoken it.what i did was to post a quote from:
*** w57 6/15 370 Overseers of Jehovah's People ***
It is vital that we appreciate this fact and respond to the directions of the “slave” as we would to the voice of God, because it is His provision.as you can see they stated basically IF IT'S IN PRINT JAH HAS SPOKEN at least that how any loyal jw is to view anything coming out of brooklyn
well in the 1-1-00 they list all these dogmas they have needed to flipflop on and i merely was making the point that with all those errors they bear no resemblance to THE VOICE OF GOD SPEAKINGPrecisely—which is why they don't presume to equate their words with Jehovah's.
for if so they would have got the info right the first timeHowever, just like the apostles, and many others in times past who have been used or appointed by Jehovah, they have often erred in their understanding and gotten things wrong. They have even conceded that the slave class "is not too proud to admit that as of now it cannot answer every question, keeping Proverbs 4:18 clearly in mind." (Watchtower, June 1, 1997, p. 14)
just think, all the dogmas listed in the 1-1-00 were scriptualLY wrong the day they CAME OFF THE PRESSES doesn't sould like the voice of god to me more like THE OPINIONS OF MEN MASQURADING around claiming they got thier info from godSome of these former beliefs mentioned in the January 1, 2000 Watchtower included infant babtism, immortality of the human soul, purgatory, hellfire torment, Trinity, wearing of a cross-and-crown pin, and Russell's view of the Great Pyramid in light of Isaiah 19:19, 20. Does it seem reasonable to expect that these things would be done away with immediately, in some huge flash of light? Or would you not expect that Jehovah would require them to search the Scriptures and come to these conclusions themselves? This in itself would be a test of righteousness. Often Jehovah allows his servants to be tested, sometimes to the breaking point (although not beyond what they can bear), in order to draw them out (e.g. 40 years of wandering in the wilderness, Job, Jonah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, etc.).
