How many different ways could I express to my wife that I love her? How many songs could I write that come from the real me? What issues could be debated, and with whom, by that time? And the next 10,000 years, and the next, and the next, etc. etc. etc. forever!

Your purpose strikes me as self-centered, which is common among people today who are taught the fraudulent "survival of the fittest" mentality. Listen carefully then answer...

With infinite worlds in an infinite universe, an infinite number of intelligent beings can come into existence. If your focus can shift toward helping them to enjoy that first ten thousand years to the fullest (at which time their focus can shift outside themselves), and you can keep doing that as an infinity of "real estate" is filled throughout the universe, how could you ever grow weary?

Remember the feeling you have after your morning coffee on a good morning of feeling "on top of the world" and fully energized? If you could keep reenergizing forever, and keep facing new days mentoring a young one, and everyone did that, then that alone would mean we would never grow tired of living. We wouldn't count our life in years. The number of years we had lived (a million, ten million, a trillion) would truly be academic.

Of course then we have no idea if God will keep human beings in human biological form, or if at some stage God will advance us to a higher form that makes our life today seem amoeba-like in its primacy.

Knocking a thing (such as living forever) before you've given it a fair shot is shortsighted, no?

Rick
