There is more than one way to do most things, and this is something that can be approached in an individual manner.

I think it is so sad when family members have to live in suspicion of one another, feel each other out slowly to find out where they stand. In some religions, people can and do question and object outloud.

Those families know where they all stand, and it is much less stress. They can disagree and know their whole family won't be torn apart over it.

The WTS divides families, ruins families. He doesn't want that for his family. That is perfectly understandable and reasonable.

Advice is dangerous to give. Be supportive, but telling him how he must do it is similar to what the WTS does. Just let him think! :)
