Yes, that is one of the hardest things for a former or soon-to-be-former JW to give up. That mindset is simply the result of not just one or two scriptures, but literally thousands and thousands of repetitions of the word "organization" in the literature and at all formal gatherings of JWs.
If and when you are able to give up the notion that being part of a "right" organization is essential to your spiritual growth, then and only then will you be able to objective choose to join one or not.
I chose the latter.
