you said:. Work, love, accomplishment, any endeavor whatsoever would become entirely meaningless with eternity in view. I'd eventually have to kill myself from feelings of emptiness and worthlessness. Why cherish anything at all when you can eventually attain everything possible?

I couldn't disagree with you more. We really are like a mans breath on a cold morning. When we are beginning to learn a little compassion, when we have seen enough to know that tolerance is the best answer, when we have found the mate, the friends, had the children, learned a skill worth knowing well enough to practice it, then we begin to feel our age and to lose all we have gained.
No, no matter what your beliefs or lack of them are, no one can say it is better to die than to live. That poor health and death is better than eternal life and health. No, life, love, and knowledge are good. Death and nothingness are not good. Don't decieve yourself. If you really believed that you would already have killed yourself. Why wouldn't 70 years be worse than 30 if time takes away from your accomplishments instead of adding to them. I believe in a Creator, I choose to believe that Jehovah is that Creator and that Jesus Christ is his son. I can't prove it, neither can you disprove it. My favorite proof is the scripture saying, "Every house has it's builder, the builder of all things is God." We are here.
