For as gloomy as the Congregator's words appear, they are nonetheless quite true. I cannot fathom what living forever would be, unless it is some state of spiritual stupor or trance. Work, love, accomplishment, any endeavor whatsoever would become entirely meaningless with eternity in view. I'd eventually have to kill myself from feelings of emptiness and worthlessness. Why cherish anything at all when you can eventually attain everything possible?
