Hi Chappy,
: 1. Yes or no: Do you believe in the possibility of a universal, supreme Creator? I'm not asking about His/Her qualities, personality or "religious" implications, just the POSSIBILITY.
Yes, if we're discussing apriori assumptions, it is certainly a "possibility". Once we start examining the actual evidence we have available today, however, this possibility quickly moves towards zero.
: 2. ASSUMING the above answer to be yes, would you believe in the POSSIBILITY that humans are "ignorant" of occurances many of us now consider impossible; ie:, eternal life, resurrection, different forms of existence; "miracles" if you will?
It's certainly possible, yes.
But of all things that are possible, it is safe to say that the old tried-and-tested-and-found-wanting solutions that theistic religion has come up with, is among the least probable. The rational position is to go where present and available evidence points, always. What is unknown can go either way. But if we take a lesson from historical developments, the chances are that evidence will continue to pile up against supernaturalism.
: 3. IF you came to the conclusion of His/Her existence; would your outlook on life change in a dramatic way? (I don't necessarily mean Bible thumping or religious fanatisism.)
Depends on the properties and qualities of said Deity, of course.
: 3. Would you "like" the idea of a creator?
Number 3 again?
I liked it and lived for it the first 25 years of my life. It was a hard conclusion to accept, as many people I discussed it with in the past will testify, but once I had accepted the only rational conclusion I have had no reason to look back. Its just an emotional crutch people think they need.
: Again, I'm not necessarily looking for an answer that has to include religious dogma.
Sure. May the force be with you :-)
