You missed the point, DaJahVeu.

According to relativity, the future is an expanding cone in space and time. There is no way that information can be transfered beyond the boundaries of this cone. One way to think of it is to imagaine that the rest of the universe does not exist past those boundaries. So, if Jesus died around 33 A.D., it won't make a big impact on the rest of the universe for the next several billion years. Doesn't make a great deal of sense does it?

And evidently the first-century Christians felt that heaven was UP above us. Why else would they imagine the ludicrous image of a man rocketing straight up into space? What possible reason was there for it? Why didn't Jesus just phase out like in Star Trek? Several thousand years from now there may even be legends about the LORD Kirk doing just that...

"Mr. Spock, their...unrighteousness...is too... great. Must fight it."
"Captain, I would suggest you turn to Romulans 5:134254900392059..."
"Damn it, Jim, I'm a disciple not a miracle-worker."
