It sure does bring back memories of the countless hidings received over the years.
The last one came when I was 16 when my stepfather decided to give me a workover for not drying the dishes properly.
This time I decided not to take any more abuse and ducked when the first swing came and at the same time landed a perfect blow to his more "sensitive area".
This action led to him being scared of me and my apparent new found ability to defend myself.
I was kicked out on the street of a foreign country (usa)with no family to turn to for help and I remember thinking 'I will never survive armageddon now but who cares'.
I never went back to my parents house instead I bought a ticket back to Europe, put my self in school and got good grades for the first time in my life.
I don't blame my parents for anything anymore but I do blame the society who encourages child abuse.
